How to Get
a Library Card
Library cards are issued by the town in which you legally reside. Plainville
residents may apply for a free library card at the Plainville Public Library by
filling out a registration form and showing proof of identity a photo ID (i.e.
valid driverís license) with current address. If the ID doesnít reflect the
current address then a recent piece of mail with the patronís name & Plainville
address is required.
All fines or lost item fees due on an expired library card must be paid before a
new card can be issued. The replacement fee for a lost library card is $1.00.
Did you know? Your
Plainville library card can be used at any library in the state of Connecticut
to borrow materials.
responsible for all items checked out on your card. If you lose your card,
please notify the library. Library staff my not give information about your
borrowing record to anyone other than you. Library users' borrowing records are
confidential and excluded from the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act.

The Plainville Library has over 90,000 books, magazines, books on CD and tape, music CDs, videocassettes and DVDs.
Renewals: Materials may be renewed in person, online or by telephone. Please have your library card number ready when phoning.
Holds: Materials not currently available may be reserved.
Requests: Requests for purchase are welcome.
Entertainment videos & DVDs $1.00 per day.
Other Adult materials $ .10 per day.
